Kegan's Stone

Our son, Kegan Gage Ellis, was born June 19, 2007 at 9:06 am. He weighed approximately 1.5 pounds and I believe 12 inches long (I cannot find the paperwork that has the details of his birth). His pronounced death time was 6:24 pm. As I look back at this day it was full of every emotion that I can think of. The one thing that I remember the most is the morning of June 20th Brady had wrote something that touched my heart...

Note by Dad:
Approximately 9 hours after receiving a life and body to reside in this mortal state, our little baby Kegan returned Home. Our loss has sent us through a whirlwind of emotions that have tested our physical and mental state, along with our religious beliefs. It is very hard to stay positive in a time like this. It really makes you think about the meaning of life and the marvelous plan our Heavenly Father has for us. Although we didn't get much time with him, we miss our son very much. We love him and truly feel his spirit with us. It may be a long road ahead, but we know we'll be with him again for all eternity. After being sealed together in the Chicago Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Kelsey and I anxiously await the time we are able to embrace our first born. We know that he is a great soul; strong enough to withstand the devil's snare place upon this Earth, which is the reason his time on this Earth was so short. He was here long enough to receive a body so that he will be resurrected again one day. Kegan did not have to be tested and prove his loyalty and love for our Heavenly Father, for it was proven long ago. Instead he is a chosen spirit that will teach the mysteries of our Father above to those who have passed before us. What an amazing mission. My only hope is that Kelsey and I can be so strong as to make it to our judgement seat, look Heavenly Father in the eyes with a clear conscience, and say "I am Home." Kegan we look up to you. You are forever on our minds. We will never let down. We will never give up. We are so proud of you. We love you! Your Parents, Dad and Mom

School's Out...FINALLY!

Brady and I have been out of school for a week and it has been an AMAZING week!! Brady ended up with an A in his class and I ended up with 3 A's and 1 A-. I'm really proud of Brady for working so hard on his classes. I feel online classes are much more demanding than a regular class and I know that I do not have the self motivation he does to complete all the assignments. Since shool has been out we have started to read the books we love over again, went to the Teton Dam, gone to the park a few times, and hung out with friends!

Here are a few pictures of us at the Teton Dam. We went looking for jade with Brady's dad and it was so pretty!

Here are some pictures of our friends right before they left for New York and our other friends who are leaving for Washington. It's a sad week...

I've also gone down to the pool with Kayla and Gabe a few times and here are some adorable pictures of Gabe in the water!

4th of July Weekend!

So we had an eventful 4th of July weekend...sorry it's taken so long to post :) First of all...everyone knows how much Brady loves soccer! So for Father's day I purchased Real Salt Lake (soccer) tickets for the July 3rd game. We had a BLAST! We had amazing seats...6 rows up on the 50 yard line! It was so much fun but I did get a little nervous about the soccer balls that came up into the stands!

Friday was the 4th and Brady had taken me to Bridal Veil Falls in Provo. I had never been there before so I enjoyed seeing the waterfall. Unfortunately that day wasn't the most fun...we both had to do some homework and Brady had a really bad headache so we went back to Tara and Derek's for the night.

Saturd
ay, July 5th, was Tagg and Katie's wedding!! We drove up to Logan and attended their sealing and then Brady was Tagg's best man so we were at all the events following their sealing. It was a LONG day but we had so much fun! I thought the Logan temple was BEAUTIFUL! I wish I had time to take more pictures of it...oh well.

Sunday, July 6th, was another big day! We attended two baby blessings...Eva and Everett's. Eva is our niece and Everett is the son of our good friends here in Rexburg. We were so grateful to be able to attend both of their special days :)

Now all we are doing is trying to get through the last week of school! We both have straight A's and hope to maintain that grade! Wish us luck!

Trip to Michigan

It's been awhile since we have been home from Michigan so I think it's time to post the highlights of our trip!
I believe everyone reading this knows the main reason for our trip..and that was to purchase a headstone for our son Kegan. That day I reflected on everything that went on a year ago and I still can't believe things turned out the way they did. I think of him often and I am anxious to hold him in my arms once again. The picture is Brady and I, on his birthday, sitting on top of his grave...and where the headstone will be in about another month or so.

We also went golfing with Brady's Grandparents! We had a lot of fun BUT I have a family curse where I lose things...and I had lost our camera! I had put it in the cup holder of our golf cart and forgot it was there. It wasn't until an hour after we got home that I realized we didn't have our camera - of course I was devastated (it had all of our pictures from the cemetery on it and they mean a lot to me). So we went back to the golf course and asked some people if anyone turned a camera in and no sign of it...so we left our number and told them to call if one shows up. Well, we never got a call. Then my sweet husband who is on top of things called the golf course and our camera had been dropped off! I was so happy I couldn't stop smiling! So anyway! That's my story of how I lost our camera :)

Another fun thing - Brady and I promised my niece, Kyllie, that we would take her to Chuckie Cheese. It seriously has been at least 2 years since we have promised her this event and she still remembers so we FINALLY took her to Chuckie Cheese and we had so much fun! I really miss this girl...she is growing up so fast and I hate missing all of the fun stuff that I could be doing with her.

We loved seeing our family and friends and we can't wait to see them again sometime soon! Here's a picture of me and my grandparents the night before we left!
