Party #1

Brady's parents came to visit us this last weekend. Since we are going to be in Michigan for Cooper's birthday they brought over a delicious cake and presents for him. He absolutely LOVED the cake!!! He started off slow by putting his fingers in it and then right away his mouth popped open and wanted to eat it with his face! It was so adorable and just the reaction I was hoping for.

Since it was past his bedtime, we opened presents the next day. He got REALLY cute clothes from Grandma and Grandpa Ellis! (we requested no toys...he has too many and has no clothes) Great Grandma and Grandpa Johncock sent him a beautiful quilt and a musical helicopter with balls. He LOVES his new toy and plays with it all the time! Aunt Lynell sent him a super cool Folding Wagon! We're anxious to use it when the weather is warmer.

We are excited for our trip to Michigan and for our little boy to turn 1!!

ultrasound

Everything looks great! Baby is measuring exactly as we thought so our due date is still August 15! I am 11 weeks and 4 days along. The baby was super wiggly, which is no surprise to me! All 3 children have been super wiggly and the comment has been made during each ultrasound. Maybe another active little boy?!

Now onto Cooper. He's sick...again. We just can't seem to get rid of whatever is going around. I took him to the doctor because he was wheezing. Wheezing freaks me out, especially with it being RSV season. The doctor assessed him and said he has a double ear infection! what?? I was not expecting that. Cooper is not whiney or anything. He's just sleeping a LOT more and not eating very much. So he started him on antibiotics. Cooper still has loads of energy and loves to play. We never would have known if I hadn't taken him in. His lungs are clear and his breathing is regular. His wheeze comes and goes so the doc said it's most likely caused from the drainage that's going down his throat. We're keeping a close eye on him! Good thing I have the next few days off.

Forgot to mention...

At my first OB appointment we did the full exam. I do not like those exams. Not only because it's awkward but because it physically hurts. So during the exam I finally found out why...I have a tilted uterus, which makes it difficult for them to find my cervix. TMI?? Sorry! So every doctor that does the exam has to adjust the tool (I forget the name of it) in directions that hurt.

ALSO, this tilting of the uterus can make conception difficult. She said "apparently you don't have a problem with that." And boy is she right! This is the 3rd pregnancy conceived within the first month. It's super surprising to me because with my thyroid problems I have always been told I might develop fertility problems.

In the end, all 3 pregnancies are a blessing in so many ways!

Tomorrow is another ultrasound :) Can't wait!

Our little man

Cooper is pretty much the coolest person on the planet!! He is picking up on things so fast and makes us giggle ALL the time.

-His most recent thing is to copy us when we sneeze! He'll look down and make a "sneezing" noise. Then he'll look up at us and laugh! Sometimes I catch him doing it after he sneezes too.
-He LOVES to play with balls. His new favorite is his football. He will even hold it correctly! He will take the ball and throw it as hard as he can and make a cute grunting noise.
- he "talks" all the time.
- he started to "dance" to music. He sways and smiles.
- he has a new obsession with soft blankets! he smashes his face in them and will roll aroundthe floor with it.

all smiles

so adorable

Yay!!!
He has dark hair and it's starting to curl the longer it gets

Happy Birthday Brady!

It's a little late but Brady celebrated his 26th birthday this month! I still can't believe he's that "old". The first birthday we celebrated together was his 18th!

We didn't do too much. On his actual birthday I worked and didn't feel like doing much of anything. So we opened presents and went out to dinner. I got him a movie and a new video game for the Wii. The kids got him a picture frame to put his favorite picture in and hang at work. I even went to bed early that night...lame I know. But being pregnant and getting up early just doesn't do me any good. The next day I had off so I made him his favorite dinner...chicken cordon bleu with mashed potatoes. I also made him his favorite cake and invited Travis and Alisha over for dessert.

Happy Birthday Huni!
NBA Jam. We played this game ALL the time on N64
Prince of Persia
Chicken Cordon Bleu

His favorite birthday cake!
Overall, it was a pretty relaxed birthday but I think he enjoyed it. We spent a lot of time together as a family, which is rare these days.

Its a.....

BABY!!

We are so excited to announce that we are expecting baby #3 in August! We had our first appointment today and everything looks well. We have one little bean with a strong heartbeat!! My friend mentioned on her blog that it's "the year of the fetus". She knows of at least 20 people/friends that are expecting a baby this year. I too know of many that are expecting a baby this summer! She also did a cute little set up...I'm going to copy her. Here are the most frequently asked questions I have had so far:

How old is your baby? Meaning...how far apart are the two kids going to be?
Cooper and baby #3 will be 18 months apart. Crazy I know but we wanted them this close!

How are you feeling?
Exhausted, nauseated, and emotional. I just want to sleep all the time, food is gross to think of but yummy to eat, and I cry every single day! The upside of this...with both the boys I was in severe pain. My appendix was leaking with Kegan and I had kidney stones with Cooper. So far...NO physical PAIN!

How far along are you?
About 10 weeks. We have another ultrasound next week to measure the baby and have a more accurate date.

When is the due date?
EDD: August 15. However, with a planned c-section it'll be a week+ earlier. I dilated and effaced REALLY early with Cooper so the MD said it'll be a watch and see type of thing. It's dangerous for me to go into labor so there will be many appointments.

We are SUPER excited about having another baby. This pregnancy has been so different compared to the other two. Aside from NOT being in pain (like with the other two) I am way more emotional and overall depressed. I have no energy to do anything and I want to sleep all the time. With the boys I had more energy and felt better being pregnant than not. Weird...I know but it's kind of a bummer. I was looking forward to having more energy and feeling great! I guess every pregnancy is different...or it's a girl?!

11 months

*For some reason I can't upload pictures...sorry!*

Cooper is getting SO big!!! It's amazing how fast he's learning and the things he picks up.

- he pushes cars/trucks around and makes the appropriate noise along with it. Seriously adorable!
- he loves loves loves balls! He'll throw them everywhere!
- likes to make "fart" noises on the furniture
- can climb up on the couch and has tried to climb onto the counter tops. We find him with his fingers gripping onto the counter top and his feet on the cupboard doors...scary I know!
- he LOVES to eat, which is not unusual I guess. Day care even comments on how much he loves to eat - and that he eats a lot!
- dada is his favorite person in the WHOLE world! I pick him up from day care and all I hear is "dada" "dada" all the way home. When we get home he seems to be searching for Brady too. Super cute! When my phone rings I hear "dada"
- he likes to yell and scream. It's a playing game at home with daddy. He doesn't understand that it's a game we play only at home.
- he absolutely hates getting his diaper changed...mostly because he has to sit still.
- he enjoy drinking out of a water bottle and I think he has discovered what it's like to be thirsty.
- he isn't walking yet but that's okay! He's a super fast crawler and I can't imagine what it'll be like when he's running (I'm pretty sure he'll skip walking and start running)
- he's clapping a lot now and will sit still long enough through half of "patty-cake"

Wow, I could go on FOREVER! He is the greatest little guy in the whole world! I can't believe he'll be 1 year old next month! YIKES!

Christmas and New Years

Christmas Eve -
I worked the day shift and got off at 2. We made ham, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese! Typical Brady and Kelsey food. It's been tradition to open one gift on Christmas Eve. We wanted to keep this tradition but change it up a bit. We've heard many people say they open new PJ's on Christmas Eve and we thought that was a great idea! haha so we all opened new PJ's that night and ate dinner in them. Cooper didn't care too much about what was going on but did enjoy the ham! He ate TWO pieces that night.
Christmas-
I worked the day shift again. Blah. So present time was delayed until I got home. Cooper ended up taking a nap so Brady and I relaxed for a bit and ate left overs for an early dinner. We then opened presents and played with Cooper for a while. He enjoyed opening the first present and then wanted to play the rest of the time. He was spoiled and unwrapped WAY too many toys! I think we went a little overboard. I guess we didn't realize how many gifts we got until they were all together in one spot! oops.
New Years Eve and New Years Day-
I worked and we all slept. We didn't even do anything special. Not even a single picture of either day! Oops. I guess we just don't really care. New Years out here is MUCH different than New Years in Michigan when the ball drops at 12. I also had to be to work by 6 am so we were in bed by 10:30.
