We have a camera!!

We finally broke down and purchased a new camera. It's nothing special but it will get us through a couple of years (if we don't break it again)! And we couldn't have bough it at a more perfect time. We were able to go to Blackfoot to attend our friend's baby blessing on Sunday! The blessing was beautiful! Travis and Alisha are wonderful parents and love her so much.
After church we were invited to have some muffins at Alisha's parents house and we visited with their families for a little while and headed home. Here are a few pictures...

*Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow*

At work last Friday so many customers were telling me "There's a HUGE storm coming tonight!" So Brady and I were expecting to wake up to a few inches of snow...because a storm in Michigan means a couple inches of snow. We woke up Saturday morning with snow..but not as much as we expected. The only bad part about this "storm" was that the wind was terrible and the roads were icy as usual. But it has pretty much snowed everyday since! We are very grateful that we had our home fixed so that there will be no water damage this year. We are already sick of the cold weather and the icy roads!

Saturday we helped Travis and Alisha move down to Blackfoot. We are sad to see them go but we are way exicted for them to continue forward in life! The drive down was not very fun because of the "storm" but we made it there and back safely.

Saturday night we had a Christmas Party at the Page's new home! We were to have an ugly Christmas sweater contest and a white elephant gift exchange. Well, Brady and I never made it to purchase an ugly sweather and we totally bombed the gift exchange. We had never done a white elephant gift exchange before, and we were told to bring a cheap, kind of funny gift. So Brady and I brought a plunger! haha everyone needs a plunger right? We thought it was funny but it did not go along with the game. I must say I felt pretty dumb! Oh well. But we had fun playing games, drinking hot chocolate, and eating cookies!

Update

The semester is coming to an END!! Thank goodness! I am only taking one class (anatomy and physiology) but I am tired of studying and worrying about this class. I took the first half of the course in the summer so I have been studying the body since April! Talk about over load! Brady is still doing AMAZING at his school work. Poor guy never gets a break but in a few weeks he gets two weeks off!! He's pretty excited!

Thanksgiving was wonderful as always! We spent the day with Brady's family that came up from Utah and had a potluck type dinner. It was yummy but we both really missed family back in Michigan. We also went to a friends house for some delicious pie! It's always fun to see a bunch of people on holidays!

So you might be wondering why I haven't posted any pictures...well that's because we had an accident with our camera. We are so bummed with the holiday approaching and no camera to take pictures. I guess we'll just have to get by with other people's pictures.

We are anxious for Alisha to have her baby girl and for Nate and Chelsea to move back to Rexburg to add to our fun!

Everyone have a safe and happy holiday!!

Ward Thanksgiving Feast

This past weekend we had our Ward Thanksgiving dinner and it had special meaning to it. A year ago...at our Ward Thanksgiving dinner...Brady and I were sitting alone at our table and two couples came and sat down with us. I don't remember a whole lot from that night but I do remember laughing pretty much the entire time! Those four people (Travis, Alisha, Melinda and Scott) are still our good friends today and we all went to the dinner together! It was a great way to celebrate our "anniversary" as friends. As we all graduate and leave the small town of Rexburg, I know that we will keep in touch. Here are a few pictures from the dinner...

Brittney and Rob Harvey

Travis and Alisha Robison
Scott and Melinda Page

Then after the dinner we wanted to do something fun so we went and invaded Melinda's parents home and played Rockband! We had so much fun! There's never a dull moment when you get all of us together Melinda's cute nephewPlaying Rockband

Oops

Brady was doing homework and I was trying to think of something to do so that I could put off studying just a little bit more. My mother in law gave me a new set of knives for my birthday so I thought salsa would be fun to make. As I was cleaning out the seeds of the jalapeno the brand new, sharp knife slid right through the jalapeno and into my finger! Brady tried to butterfly it together but that wasn't going to work so he took me to the emergency room. I ended up leaving the hospital with 4 stitches on my little finger. The dumb part about the whole situation is...about 5 seconds or so before I cut my finger I thought to myself "I need to be very careful or I am going to cut my finger." I should have listened!

We had visitors!

Tagg and Katie came up to Rexburg to see us the other weekend! We all took Friday off of work so that we had 3 days to just relax. We didn't do much except play games and talk. We did do a session at the temple, went to the mall in IF, played ping pong up at the college, and ate lots of food! We had so much fun and hope we can do it again sometime soon!

Teton National Park

We took a quick road trip with our friends to Teton National Park. We drove through Jackson Hole and drove to the park to find out that it was closed for the season. We were bummed but it was still nice to get out of the small town of Rexburg!!

My Sweetheart

*It is so difficult to find a picture where he isn't making a silly face! He's so cute though even when he looks silly!

A) The rules are posted at the beginning.
B) Each person answers questions about their sweethearts.
C) At the end of the post, the person then tags people and posts their names; then goes to their blog and leaves them a comment, letting them know they have been tagged.

What is your husbands name? Brady Boyd
How long have you guys been married? 2 years 5 months
How long did you date? Almost 3 years before we were married in June
How old is he? 23 for 2 more months
Who is taller? Brady
Who can sing best? Haha! Neither of us sing...we have often tried and are not successful.
Who is smarter? Definitely Brady! He is really good at everything! But I guess I can say I'm a little bit more educated in Science
Who does laundry? I must say that it's usually me. I am home a lot so if I do it while he's at work then it's more time to spend with eachother.
Who pays the bills? Yikes...that's rough. I used to do it and then I got out of routine and now he's picked up on it. Either way...the bills must get paid!
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?
Well, he sleeps on my right...so him?
Who mows the lawn? We pay a monthly association fee for other people to come do that. But when we have the pleasure of having our own lawn...Brady will probably be the one mowing.
Who cooks dinner? That would be me! Brady is really good at cooking a pizza ;)
Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? We are both pretty good at admitting we were wrong...it just may take a few seconds to realize what we did wrong.
Who kissed who first? Brady definitely surprised me with a kiss!
Who wears the pants? I'm going to agree with Rachel on this one and say "We both have a leg in!"

I tag Bree Lufkin, Tara Bleazard, Diane Kohler and Rudi Betzold

Happy Birthday to me!

Yesterday was my 21st birthday!! It was one of the best birthdays I could ask for! Brady surprised me and took half the day off of work so we could spend some time together :) We went to Olive Garden for lunch, went to the mall to purchase a book for Brady (he's been waiting a long time for this book!!) and went to the driving range to use my birthday present!! The cool part about going to the driving range was that I spotted two LARGE moose crossing a river! The sad part is that Brady broke his driver :( I felt so bad for him...it was his favorite.

The moose! You can see the part of the bridge we were driving on! They were that close!!

It was HOT yesterday! But we still had fun!

After a great afternoon, I had to go to class and Brady went to soccer practice. Class was very eventful! We were measuring our oxygen intake and output and a student seizured during his own test. It was pretty scary but he seemed to be doing alright. Then after class we went to dinner at a pizza place here in Rexburg with all of our good friends! I was so happy to be able to celebrate my birthday with them! It doesn't happen very often that we can all get together at one time! So I was shocked that all most everyone was able to come! Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy lives to have dinner with us!

All of us at dinner!

We have a yummy cupcake place here in Rexburg and I talked Brady into getting me one for my birthday! It was the BEST cupcake EVER!!

Yesterday was a great day and I am so grateful for Brady and the effort he made into making my birthday all about me!

It's that time again

We had a lot of fun carving pumpkins this year! I have never carved a fun pumpkin before...it's always been by my imagination and always ends up looking pretty lame. But this year we spent a few hours with our friends watching Sleepy Hollow and carving some pretty sweet pumpkins!
Yumm!!

Me, Alisha, Travis, and Brady

We also went to our ward Halloween party! I would say that the party was a success and everyone looked way cute dressed up! I didn't take any pictures of random people...I felt dumb so here's Mike, Tia and Everett!

The handsome prince, pretty princess, and their little dragon!

Baby Shower Time

October has been a busy month of us. We've had a lot of things going on each weekend and one was Alisha's baby shower! Our dear friend, Tia, spent a lot of time planning fun games and organizing the shower for Alisha and their baby girl. Makenna will be in style when she is born with all of her cute outfits! I didn't take many pictures...and I'm not sure why because I always do...but here are the ones that I took!

She looks amazing! Only two months to go!

Go Team!

Brady has been really busy and needs a little bit of recognition! He works full time down in Idaho Falls, plays on the competitive soccer team (with 2 nights of practicing and 1 game day), plays on the ward basketball team, does homework every single day, and spends time with me! He even helps out with the house work when it gets overwhelming! He is such an amazing husband and I appreciate all of his hard work to make our lives a little bit easier.
Here are a few pictures of the ward basketball team! They have gone undefeated this semester and Brady hopes to bring home a t-shirt!!
Here's a few players on the sideline...something must have been funny!
Great pass Brady!
I love this picture of Travis!! I am sure it was a pass to score!
Don't be fooled by Brady! He says he's only a soccer player and isn't very good at any other sport...BUT the other night he scored 8 points! Two 3 pointers and a lay up! Now he doesn't feel so horrible about being on the team and enjoys playing!

Anticipation

As many (if not all) of you know that I have applied for the nursing program here at BYU I and have been waiting for a letter for approximately 5 months. Yesterday I received a call from the department regarding a chemisty class that I had taken in January. I was so excited to even hear from the department but so disappointed that they didn't have any record of this class being taken. Unfortunately I didn't get out of work in time to call the school so I worried the entire night about what was going to happen. I looked up my school transcript and it showed that I had taken the class. So long story short! I called the school first thing this morning and they were on top of things and called the school where I took the class and got all the information they needed. After a sleepless night I came to realize that it was a blessing they didn't have my information. I know that my application is still being considered and that I still have a chance at being accepted into the program. I should finally receive a letter in the next 2 to 3 weeks!! It has been a long, stressful few months and I am anxious for the anticipation to be over and done with!

Early Birthday!!

My birthday isn't until the end of the month but I am spoiled and got my present early this year! Brady was so sweet and gave me my very own golf club set!! It's so cute...it is the breast cancer awareness set and they are pink, purple and silver sparkles! I was so excited to finally have a set that actually fits me and that are not 10 years old :) But the reason he gave them to me early was so that I could use them once before winter hits. So for our family home evening activity he took me to the driving range last night! It was so much fun and I LOVE my new set! My drives were much longer and straighter and I felt more comfortable using them. I'm really not good at playing golf but I enjoy the sport and it's something fun for us to do together. Here are some pictures that I took at the driving range. I love the color of the trees at this time of the year.

General Conference

We were blessed with tickets to the Priesthood Session and the 178th Semi Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Sunday morning session. Brady was very excited to go and watch the Priesthood Session and said it was a wonderful experience. Brady's been to a session before as a little boy but I had never been to a live session before and was way excited to be there. The spirit that was there was truly wonderful. We sat in the very top balcony, kind of in the middle and I want to say 6-10 rows up. They weren't wonderful seats but we could see the speaker :) I really enjoyed listening to the Tabernacle Choir and they are truly talented! It was amazing...the whole entire weekend was raining and cold. When we walked out of the Conference Center the sun was shining and it was much warmer! It ended up being a beautiful day.

When we were down there we hung out with our friends/cousins Katie and Tagg and their friends McKenna and Chris. After the priesthood session we went to a neat little pizza place called The Pizza Pie. The food was so yummy and we had a lot of fun!

Finally Fall!

I am so excited that fall is here! The leaves are so pretty! It's nice to have a change in scenery...it's too bad it's still 80 degrees out! This past weekend Tara and Derek came up to Rexburg. We were so happy to see them and to see Eva! She's growing up so fast! We wish that we lived closer so we could see her grow! Here are a few pictures that I love!!Gabe is also growing up SO fast! He is crawling and such a cute kid! Here are some pictures of him...

I love watching these two kids grow! They are so happy ... you can see it in their faces!!

Brady's Nose Surgery

Brady had nose surgery last week :( He was having problems breathing and went and saw a doctor that I looked up in the phone book. He had used a camera to show him what the problem was. He had a deviated septum...meaning his cartilage was broken. He then found out from a co-worker that this particular doctor is not honest in his work. So Brady looked him up and found some outrageous information on him and we decided to find another doctor. This new doctor Brady was told to by the same co-worker that told him about the other doctor and we LOVE him! He did tell Brady the same diagnosis and did the surgery a few weeks later. This doctor is so nice! He studied at Michigan and then came here...he even knows a family friend! Weird huh? He also answered some of my questions dealing with my thyroid disease when I didn't even have an appointment with him. Not very many doctors will do that. Anyways...back to Brady. Even though his surgery went well...he had the most miserable week of his life! He was stuffy with all kinds of fluids in his nose, major pressure in his head, and he had a terrible headache. He wasn't allowed to blow his nose or do anything that would help him feel better. I felt so bad for him. Then yesterday was his one week check up and they were to remove his plastic things in his nose. Now Brady was so freaked out about this appointment. The plastic things were STAPLED through the middle of his nose! He kept saying "They better numb my nose before they do anything." haha poor guy! But things turned out better than he thought...they just snipped the staple and then pulled out a tube that we think is about 4 inches long!!!! We couldn't believe it! We tried to figure out how far into his head they would've been. But after the tubes were out he felt so much better! He just kept smiling and laughing because he felt amazing!! So now he has another check up in five weeks just to make sure everything is still fine. He's able to breathe so much better and he can't wait to get out on the soccer field!!!

Sorry I don't have any pictures...he didn't look any different after the surgery.

Jake and Rudi came to visit!!

We LOVE our friends from Michigan! They came in on Saturday morning and we showed them around Rexburg and then we went golfing! It was Rudi's first time golfing EVER and she wasn't expecting anything fun. BUT she had a blast and says she will definitely do it again! For a first time golfer, she did AMAZING! She shocked us all :)

Then we got up early Sunday morning and headed to Yellowstone. Jake and Rudi had never been there before so we had to take them there. We didn't see a whole lot...it was actually kind of boring but we did see some buffalo, a bald eagle, elk, deer, and a grizzly bear! The grizzly bear was the highlight of the trip! Brady was so excited he grabbed the video camera and taped it. I must say it was pretty awesome, the grizzly was eating a buffalo! It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to see it.

Our next stop was to Utah. Jake and Rudi have friends down in Provo and they are spending the rest of their vacation down there. We had so much fun hanging out with them! We can't wait to see them again!
